Minding Your Mental Health This Holiday Season.

Starting in 2021, The Uyeno Foundation will begin to fund initiatives that promote positive mental health through prevention, intervention, treatment, and education.

For some, it may be the most wonderful time of year, but for many, the travel, shopping, family, hosting, being alone, loss of income, and the stress of the ongoing COVID-19 virus can intensify or worsen feelings of anxiety, depression or loneliness. That is why as we are getting into the thick of the holiday season, the Foundation has prepared a few special messages to help you have a safe, enjoyable, and stress-reduced holiday season.

The Foundation will present a local mental health symposium on mental health for first responders, healthcare professionals, and front-line workers. We dove right into conversation about the opioid crisis, and Dr. Gruning shared with us how his passion to make a dent in the opioid crisis was derived from destruction and was driven by faith.

Dr. Gruning started a one-of-a-kind medical facility that provides care to the uninsured making it the only free pain clinic in Florida, and perhaps in the entire United States.
